What Kind of Nymph Are You?

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Nymphs are my favorite paranormal creature. They embody what the ancient Greeks hoped and feared women might be like if unfettered by the normal rules of society. Primal. Powerful. Capricious. Captivating.

In my Mythica series for HQN Nocturne, two of my heroines are nymphs, so I had the bright idea to make up a ‘Which Kind of Nymph Are You?’ quiz. It looks as if someone else beat me to it, and with much prettier art work than I might have come up with. I’m not surprised at my own result–which I’ve posted below. My latest heroine is an underworld nymph and I clearly identify with her.

But now I hope you’ll take the quiz and post your results. What kind of nymph are you?

What Is Your Nymph Type?
Underworld Nymph
The Lampades are the nymphs of the Underworld in Greek mythology. Companions of Hecate, the Greek titan goddess of witchcraft and crossroads, they were a gift from Zeus for Hecate’s loyalty in the Titanomachy. They bear torches and accompany Hecate on her night-time travels and hauntings.

Sony Claims God of War III is Different Because of Greek Mythology

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

According to Destructoid, Sony is hyping their new game in the following manner:

“God of War III combines these new technologies with the much loved gameplay elements from the previous games — Puzzle solving, brutal combat and epic set-piece battles,” explains Backhouse. “It also benefits from a deep and involving storyline, steeped in Greek Mythology. This is what makes God of War III unique and sets it apart from other next gen titles.”

Does that make it special? How many other games out there are steeped in Greek mythology these days? Honest question. Maybe not many. I’d love to know.

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

cover_largeI freely admit that I use my Wii mostly for exercise. I do Yoga on the balance board. I dance my fool head off with Dance Dance Revolution. But for a Greek Myth inspired game like NyxQuest, I might make an exception and actually dabble with something…dare I say it…fun?

It’s based on the story of Icarus, which is oh-so-entangled with the Minotaur Myth upon which I’m building my newest novel for Harlequin’s Silhouette Nocturne and it’s getting good reviews! Check out the trailer below:
