Steph Draven’s Beach Reading Give-Away

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Hopefully a beautiful summer awaits us! So, to kick it off, I’m going to have a summer give-away!

On July 1st, I’ll choose a lucky winner who can, in turn, choose either a $20 gift certificate to either Fictionwise or Amazon.com or (if you live in the US) a box of books, brand new, most of them signed by their authors. I’ll also throw in a free ARC of one of my Harlequin Nocturne novellas.

And what do you have to do to win? I’ll give you one virtual raffle ticket for each of the following actions:

  1. Join my very infrequent newsletter
  2. Blog, twitter, myspace or facebook telling others about this contest and give me the link to it in the comments below

And that’s it! Here’s hoping you have a wonderful summer and lots of time to read and relax.

(Note: By entering the contest, you agree to let Stephanie Draven use your name on this website and her blog if you win. Your email address will never be sold or transferred to any third party.)

Autumn Contest: Greek Mythology in Modern Media

Monday, October 5th, 2009

I need your help brainstorming books, movies, and songs with overt elements of Greek Mythology in them! I’ll be giving away the winner’s choice of either a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate or SHADOWHEART, Laura Kinsale’s fabulous fantasy with romantic elements.

To win the contest, you just have to post here on my blog with one unique book, movie, or song featuring Greek Mythology. For example, you might post: The Percy Jackson & The Olympians Movie or maybe Suzanne Vega’s Calypso song. (Except you can’t use either of those because I said them first.)

As long as nobody has posted your book, movie, or film before you did, I’ll enter you in a drawing to win. In fact, I’ll give you one raffle ticket per book, film, or song that you post. And because I need lots and lots of ideas, I’m going to be running this contest for two months with two separate drawings. So you have double the chance to win.

(Note: By entering the contest, you agree to let Stephanie Draven use your name on this website and her blog if you win. Your email address will never be sold or transferred to any third party. Stephanie might, however, contact you with the very occasional update on her writing and career. At your request, however, you’ll be promptly deleted from her mailing list.)

Insultingly Easy September Contest

Friday, September 4th, 2009

1194876_72080335If you’re living in this modern world, someone insults your intelligence at least once a day, so why not let that person be me?

September’s contest is ridiculously easy. All you have to do is sign up for my newsletter using the form below (do this even if you’ve already signed up) and tell me what your favorite plot device is.

Do you love to read about young wizards coming into their power while balancing the demands of school? Secret babies? Shotgun weddings? Alien invasions? Stories that hinge entirely upon the outcome of a spectacular car chase? What is your literary fetish?

That’s it. Just fill out the form below and you could win a $10 Amazon gift certificate and a free copy of C.E. Murphy’s HANDS OF FLAME (part of her popular urban fantasy Negotiator series for LUNA Books). If there is another book that you want, and I have, I might be persuaded to make a change, but I think you’ll like C.E. Murphy! Plus, you’ll have ten bucks to buy something else!

I’ll choose a winner on October 1st!

August Contest Winner Announced

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Hi everybody!

I wanted to thank all of those who entered my contest to win a free ARC of WILD, TETHERED, BOUND. I chose the winner today–Kathy Kozakewich. But I don’t want to let the rest of you go empty handed, so I offer a very short free e-novella for you, entitled THE KNIFE’S EDGE. It’s an experimental, otherworld fantasy with romantic elements. A little steamy, politically incorrect, and featuring an anti-hero. I thought you might like it.

In the meantime, WILD, TETHERED, BOUND is getting lots of good reviews, and I hope you’ll pick it up! It’s also available on Amazon.com for the kindle.

Thanks for making my very first contest a success!

~Stephanie
