Sphinx in America

As an author of myth-inspired fiction, I love Greek mythology, but there’s a special place in my heart for Egyptian lore too. The two cultures influenced one another a great deal, and one creature they had in common was the sphinx. Oh, the Greeks and the Egyptians each had their own idea of what a sphinx was all about, but there were a lot of common traits, and what we’re left with is an enigmatic creature. (One which will be starring in my next novel.)
Apparently sphinxes aren’t just in Egypt or Greece though. We can find one over a Civil War Cemetary in America. See if you can guess which city.
